Jason Thean Kit Ooi is a designer and visual communications specialist based in Bangkok, Thailand. Born and raised in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, his career has evolved from architecture and the built environment into scientific and research communication.
Jason completed his Master of Architecture at the University of Melbourne in 2014, following a Bachelor of Environments from the same university in 2011. He also holds a Diploma in Architectural Technology from Taylor's University, Malaysia, and is a registered architect in Victoria, Australia.
He began his professional career in architecture in Melbourne, working with Spowers Architects before relocating to the United States in 2019. There, his work expanded into project management and campus planning at Emory Primate Center (EPC) in Atlanta, Georgia, where he worked on projects related to the planning, development, and management of research facilities.
Jason now works remotely as a communications specialist, with a particular focus on visual communication for scientific research. His primary role involves creating illustrations, diagrams, animations, and other visual media that translate complex scientific concepts and research findings into information that is clear, engaging, and accessible to different audiences.
